*You can enjoy the local Shochu tasting. (Shochu is made of spirits distilled from fermented rice, potatoes, wheat or the like and retains some of the original flavor. Kagoshima (Satsuma) is definitely the home of Imo(potato) Shochu!)
We will have a fair called “Satsuma mono” in California, where the people of Satsuma have migrated to the most. The name “Satsuma,” the former name of Kagoshima (the most southern part of Kyushu, Japan), is commonly used for a kind of orange in California; however, at this fair, “Satsuma mono,” you will see products that are made by designers and craftsman from Kagoshima, including some of their rich ingredients. I am glad to have this opportunity to introduce products made by the reliable people of Satsuma, my hometown, to Los Angeles, where many of my relatives have also migrated. Through this fair, I hope you will get a real sense of my “Satsuma.” -Shin Nakahara Landscape Products Co., Ltd.
