Care Instruction:
To maintain the beauty of the kettle and keep it free fro rust a good beginning is essential. This involves the creation of a sound film of mineral deposits on the inner surfaces. It takes about 10 to 14 days for this furry layer to build up.
1st day: a dark film appears
4th day: brown spots and running lines appear
7th day: the spots start to run and color fades
10th day: a powdery fur (yellow, brown, or white depending on type of water) begins to appear on brown and grey parts.
When these changes have occurred, your kettle will be fully broken in, and you will be able to enjoy it to the maximum. From the first day of the adaptation period, however, water from the kettle may be drunk. A new kettle should be used every day during this period. After use, always dry the kettle over low heat and remember to remove it as soon as all the water has evaporated as overheating causes the mineral deposits to flake off. Never leave it filled with water when off the fire or touch the inside.
Do not scour it or coat it with oil or wash it with detergents.
It is a high maintenance kettle at first, but if you use it right, you can use it for generations.
